Lectures.
What are assessments and exams like?
All assessments done by week 9. There was a group presentation which was straightforward then a write up of this and a 3000 word essay. The write up and essay were due on the same day which made for a lot of work.
Essentiality of readings? i.e. Must complete or are lectures sufficient?
Lectures are sufficient.
Pros and Cons of the Unit
Pros – done by week 9, interesting content, cons – all assessments are only focused on 1 topic you learn so felt a bit repetitive.

Not essential.

Highly recommend this unit. Really interesting content that makes you actually WANT to do the readings, Janice is so lovely (though can be a bit vague in her instruction) and lots of flexibility in the assignments to look into the parts of the course that really interest you.
